The WORTTTH team is built upon the pillars of character, culture, and connection. We believe wholeheartedly that the business of business is people, and we hold the responsibility of building our team with intentionality and discernment, ensuring we bring on board those who align with our values and elevate the way we serve.
Matt Budden and Matt Smith are the founders of WORTTTH. As qualified Chartered Accountants (SA), they bring a combined 15+ years of global experience in finance, M&A, and strategic advisory. But beyond the credentials, they’re also great friends, affectionately known as “The Matts,” and their partnership is grounded in trust, shared purpose, and a deep belief in people.
They’ve worked across audit, valuations, deal structuring, fractional CFO services, business leadership, and culture. Together they’ve built WORTTTH to reflect their shared values: human connection, creativity, teamwork, excellence, and a desire to help others flourish. Their stories mirror each other’s – both earning postgraduate degrees in accounting and spending a year in academia before entering transactional services and eventually joining and leading a multinational fractional CFO firm. Today, they lead WORTTTH with warmth, wisdom, and a fierce dedication to their clients’ success.

With a background in finance, strategy, and business science, he brings big-picture thinking and a deep belief in the power of relationship to every client partnership. Matt’s passion lies in helping founders feel seen and supported as they navigate growth, complexity, and leadership. Whether he’s modeling out a strategic decision or guiding a founder through a moment of doubt, Matt leads with clarity, care, and conviction.
